Sharp is launching its energy efficient LED lights, which are extremely thin and do a good of providing recessed lighting. The light is only 1.7” at its thickest and 0.3” at its thinnest points. It is being launched in six models.

Three of the models come with and adjustable color function and a dimmer function, either of which can be set or changed with a remote. These can give you 110 variations of light settings according to the time of the day or night and your mood. These also have an eco light rhythm function that will adjust the color and brightness automatically, if you want cool white light in the mornings and a warmer white in the nights. This makes the models extremely environmentally friendly saving up to 65 percent electricity.

The other three models come with only a dimmer function, and so give only cool white light, which is better than CFLs which given only cool white light. All of these Sharp’s models come with an eco dimmer function and an eco sensor function, which adjusts the light according to the ambient available light.

LED lights are in any case less harmful to the environment than even CFLs that, while saving power, emit harmful gases. LED lights are more eco-friendly and easy on the pocket to use, though the initial cost may be high.
