The Krank Lamp – A Funky Lamp That Does Not Use Electricty

How would you like to have a lamp where you need it, whether it is on your patio or your work desk at home or your child’s study table? And this one does not work on electricity, so you can use it anywhere since it does not need a socket.

The Krank lamp is funky looking and uses LED light, so it is eco-friendly. Plus it is made from recycled and recyclable aluminum. It works by magnetic induction – cranking the handle agitates the magnet surrounding the copper coil which will generate enough power to light the lamp for up to one hour.

Designed by Efrain E. Velez from the US, this one was featured in the Greener Gadgets Competition last year and should be available for sale soon. The handle is designed in such a way that it look like part of the lamp’s design. This easy to use lamp featuring LED light which give bright white light and is also long-lasting is environmentally friendly and because you can leave it on, till its power runs out, when it will automatically go off, you don’t have to worry about leaving the light on and wasting power!
