Eco-Friendly Dry Toner

If you think of all products, which are labeled, and almost all of them, you can imagine the vast quantities of ink, paper and toner, not to mention the whole process that surely has an environmental impact. That is why increasing numbers of manufacturers are using recycled paper and packing products and even soy inks to reduce their carbon footprint. Xeikon’s dry toners for the packaging and labeling are an eco-friendly initiative to reduce the carbon footprint.

Its QA 1 dry toner is for industrial applications and its QA P is for printing. Dry toner digital printing is known for its eco-friendliness compared to traditional offset technologies – no VOC emission, less energy and less waste. The company has obtained FDA approval for direct and indirect food contact.

The cases are made from recycled leather. They come with bamboo screen protection and bamboo is extremely environmentally friendly. You can also buy either a recycled leather pouch or one made of Hessian cloth to put the phone in, for further protection. Even the clips which are used to hold the phone is place are made from 30 percent recycled plastic (more than that, and the clip would break).

Sony has just launched a new notebook which is eco-friendly. This leading brand matches performance with sustainability. This fully featured notebook is thin and light.

However, it has almost all the other features of a heavier laptop with a Blu-ray drive. It is environmentally friendly because the entire laptop is made from recyclable materials and does not use any toxic elements. Its packaging too has less of a carbon footprint as it is made from recycled pet bottles and is reusable.

One of the world’s most popular soft drinks – and never mind about its deleterious effects on health – it is sold in pet bottles which are also harmful to the earth, coca cola is reusing its labeling and packaging in an innovative manner at least. The company is now venturing into earth friendly practices by recycling their empty bottles.

Coca Cola is manufacturing different sizes of bags from its distinctive red and white plastic labels or from the bottles. These would otherwise end up in landfills and pollute the earth. Using a process which is chemical free, the packaging is recycled to make attractive bags for many uses.

Clam shell packaging is used to protect toys and other gadgets, especially those that need protection in transport. This packaging is not only difficult to open – it is known to cause injuries – it is also environmentally dangerous since it uses a lot of plastic.

Meadwestvaco has a solution to the problems of clam shell packaging. They have come out with an innovation which used 50-60% less plastic and is made from laminated recyclable paperboard. This is reinforced with APET or RPET thermoform which is clear so you can see the product.
