A Mobile Phone That Runs on Coke

Sony Ericsson Launches Elm and Hazel Eco-Friendly Mobile Phones

Sony Ericsson has a GreenHeart series of mobile phones which are environmentally friendly and it has just launched two new models in this series, Elm and Hazel. These phones are made out of recycled plastics, don’t use hazardous chemicals and come e-manuals, thus eliminating the use of paper.

They also come with the EP300 GreenHeart low power consumption charger. In addition, they come with the Walk Mate eco application, and with a green calculator, and use minimized packaging, condensed user guide and waterborne paint.

Samsung’s Reclaim – Eco-Friendly Phone

All major manufacturers are jumping on the green bandwagon and the USP of many of their products are their environmentally friendly credentials. Samsung, too, is in the fray, having introduced many products in different categories.

Samsung’s Reclaim phone is made from 80 percent recyclable materials. Corn and other bio-materials go in to make the handset and its components. However, it looks and feels like it is plastic. It is fully featured, having a QWERTY keyboard, camera, memory card and other value-added stuff. The package is so environmentally friendly that even the printing is done via soy ink. And it consumes less power than designated to get an Energy Star rating.
