When you carry a large handbag, it sometimes becomes difficult to find things in it, even if there are pockets. This little coin purse is the perfect addition to a bigger bag. While it can be used to keep coins and loose change, it can also be used to put in your small cosmetics, mobile or iPod.

The eco-friendly element comes from 100 percent recycled plastic bottles. The zipper provides extra security. And the inside is quilted which makes it soft and yet protect all the valuables. Its size is 4 1/2″ x 3 1/2″,

The coin purse is available in other sizes and patterns as well. For such a small purse, it can carry a decent quantity of stuff. The bigger sized ones can even be used for carrying small toiletries when traveling.

Currently this little gadget is not commercially available. It is a concept whose time has come when people are looking out for devices which are earth friendly and reduce the burden on power.

There are many different battery chargers which are available in the market. Most of them use electricity and rechargeable batteries are more environmentally friendly than disposable batteries. However, Brother has designed a prototype which you just have to shake to juice up.

These batteries are meant for low usage devices like remotes, small flashlights, toothbrushes and like and not for power hungry gadgets like flash cameras. Brother is planning to unveil them at the Tokyo Techno-frontier soon.

To be available in AA and AAA models, these batteries have a capacitor and an electromagnetic induction generator. They will be able to generate up to 180 mW of power. How long will the charged battery work is not known. In any case anything that helps the environment is welcome. And these batteries will provide a good back-up when you are without handy electric power.

There are innumerable gadgets and devices which use batteries. The alloy in NiMH rechargeable batteries which replaces cadmium is usually composed of different elements, including lanthanum, cerium, neodymium, praseodymium, cobalt, manganese, and/or aluminum. This is less toxic than cadmium.

These batteries are available in different sizes to suit your needs. They are also available in various types so that you can use the high power ones for devices which need a higher power and the lower power ones which are great for devices which last a long time like remotes, clocks and the like.

With the advent of digital cameras, photography has become so much easier and one can instantly view and delete pictures, upload them to the computer, share them will friends and family and even take out prints at home. With cameras getting smaller and having more features, they are easy to use. However, cameras usually use up a great deal of battery life and one has to change batteries often, even if you use long life or rechargeable ones.

The solution to this is the solar camera strap which feeds directly into the power slot powering the camera constantly. One caveat: it works on solar power so can be used only when the sun is out.

Designed by Weng Jie, the strap features solar film on the strap to harness solar power. It is only a concept as yet, and hopefully will translate into a product. Eco-friendly? Yes. And very useful as well. Now we shall have to wait and see when it hits the shelves.
