WaterMill – Purified Drinking Water from Air

In most countries, you have to pay for the water you use. It is part of the expense of necessary utilities and often depends on your consumption of water. Additionally many countries often suffer from a perennial shortage of water. Just think that to be able to use water, the water has first to be collected in dams and reservoirs, purified, filtered, treated and then piped to reach you. There is a great deal of expense involved in the whole exercise so that you can get potable water.
There are many ways and means to conserve water whether it is water used in the kitchen or in the bath. Water conservation is extremely eco-friendly. As such, the WaterMill, which actually takes water from the air, purifies it and makes it usable, is an environmentally friendly device.
The WaterMill should be placed outside the house, since the outside air is cleaner than the inside one (in some countries at least). The system draws in moist, outside air through an air filter. The moist air passes over a cooling element, condensing the moist air into water droplets. This water is then collected, passed through a specialized carbon filter and is then exposed to an ultraviolet sterilizer, eliminating bacteria. This water then becomes potable and you can use it for drinking and for cooking.
The WaterMill is easy to use and can be connected to a water dispenser, a sink or a tap. In the test stage, it uses a nominal amount of electricity. The newer models will run on solar or wind energy, thus making them even more environmentally friendly. The water you get will depend on the humidity levels and you can get about 20 liters a day with the advanced models. The product is expected the reach the market in 2011.
